Tamara Warren was born in Southern California, and raised on the beach in the 1960’s and 70’s. The eldest of four children, she lived an active life, on the beach, in the ocean, and camping in the mountains and California Desert. She began writing when she was nine years old, and has continued to chronicle the joys and sorrows of life, to this day.
She moved to Hawaii in 1975, when her beloved hometown fell victim to “progress.” She has lived in the rain forest, on the slopes of Mauna Loa ever since. She ran her own business for twenty-five years, providing an indoor plant service. She now works part-time as a Certified Nurse Aide, caring for people confined to their homes.
She has one son. She spends her free time with her animals, and in her gardens. She continued playing competitive volleyball in Hawaii, and has paddled outrigger canoes since the 1980’s. She has raced across the Molokai Channel four times. Now, she paddles her one-man outrigger canoe regularly, with her friend, happily sharing the warm, turquoise ocean with the dolphins and whales. Every year, she returns to her childhood haunt, in the California mountains, to recharge her soul.
Her latest project, is compiling her many years of writing into book form.
